What to expect during an office visit:
Please be sure to complete our online Intake Forms promptly.
Please arrive on time for your visit. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate early arrivals as we have no waiting room.
Arrive with yourself and your baby. Dress comfortably.
If you are having difficulty producing milk or latching baby, please bring expressed milk or formula and a clean bottle to use.
If you are struggling with pumping, please bring your clean pump and clean supplies.
There is no need to bring nursing pillows as I have a number of supports in the office.
If this is a bottle feeding consult please bring clean bottles you have tried, ones that have worked, and ones that have not. Please bring plenty of supplement to use- your pumped milk, donor milk, or formula.
If you would like to bring one coparent, friend, or family member, they are welcome. I will wear a mask in all our visits and encourage you to do the same, but it is not required.
We will discuss your goals for how you'd like to feed your baby and your health history. We will weigh your baby before and after feeding.
A full, functional assessment means I will assess your baby feeding at the breast/chest. I will conduct an oral assessment. I will also assess your baby's reflexes, body, and structure.
The Parenting Studio Information:
The Parenting Studio is located one flight down stairs. Disabled or mobility challenged clients will be offered alternative services such as virtual or home visits if possible.
Please know that The Parenting Studio is located inside a home with 2 friendly, low-shedding dogs. The dogs will be secured in another part of the building during the visit and they will not have access to TPS. However, clients with sensitivity to dog dander should know that they might be exposed to small amounts of fur by normal environmental transference, and should take appropriate precautions (mask wearing tends to help in this situation). We do use HEPA air filtration in the studio.
There is usually street parking within a few blocks of The Parenting Studio. Smith Street is 2 blocks away with metered parking.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping your family meet your infant feeding goals!
